Changeable

I’m a sinner. Pure and simple.

I’m a sinner. I so often am lukewarm, but, at times, I can be entirely, unrelentingly unrepentant, throwing my sin (intentionally or not, it doesn’t matter) into the face of the Father. My heart is so hard.

I’ve been told a million times how sweet I am, but that makes it only all the worse. I’m so sweet, I’m sick of it, like too much sugar in a shallow cup of bottom-of-the-pot coffee - it give you a sugar-high and cavities.

I’d much rather be an ugly sinner, with faded tattoos and dilated eyes, who knew that they needed Christ, than that sick little effeminate “Christian”, running around spewing his own thoughts while ignoring the reality of sin in his own heart and the reality of the dying and alone all around him. 

There are so many levels on which I need to be saved I’ve got to be saved on every level. I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to get this view of me as something I’m so very far from being. I’m telling you this so that you won’t settle for a comfortable Christianity, that you won’t settle for an unrepentant life, so that you won’t settle for half-in-half-out heart.
