Changeable

Forsooth, this picture maketh nonsense. 

Haha, seriously, though. Just look at this. First of all, She’s got a still life set up BY THE OCEAN! Who sets up a still life by the ocean? Really, who? The whole point of still-life’s is that you can do them from home.  

Secondly, look at this dress she’s wearing. No artist that I know would ever dress like this when they’re painting en plein air. None. They’d get far too sunburned. Also, generally speaking, when it’s windy enough for her hair to be blowing about like that, she ought to have her hair done up, that way no stray hairs (let alone her whole scalp) would lodge itself in the paint. 

Thirdly, check out her set-up. Her paints and cases are just spilled, hodge-podge all over the ground. Where’s her palette? Where’s her paint coming from?

Fourthly, and most importantly, what is she painting? Here she has set up a still-life by the ocean, both of which are far more interesting than her actual painting, and she’s seriously painting a person who isn’t even there? 

Obviously, the whole thing is a set up. It’s a tragic, tragic model shoot. I hope that no one who knows anything about art ever has to see this, because they’ll have the same reaction.

Art, I weep for thee.
